There’s just over a year before one of the most important elections of our lifetimes, maybe the most consequential event for our democracy in recent history.

Here’s where things stand:

All signs point to Donald Trump being his party’s nominee, no matter how many criminal charges he’s facing.

And polls consistently indicate that, if he is, it’ll be a neck-and-neck contest with President Biden.

That’s way too close for me to just sit back and hope for the best. We started Operation Saving Democracy (OpSD) to amplify the voices of some of America’s most unquestionable patriots — former generals, admirals, ambassadors — who are sounding the alarm about what another Trump term would mean for our country’s future.

This next year is about making sure voters hear our message loud and clear — to ensure that Trump and Trumpism are defeated once and for all. Will you chip in to help fund this project?

I’m working with a whole lot of people who typically want nothing to do with electoral politics. In fact, they’ve spent their careers avoiding it. The fact that these folks are worried enough about the future of our democracy to speak out now says everything you need to know about the stakes. We know that if we fail, we’ll regret it for the rest of our lives.

We had a choice on how we set up OpSD — it’s so important to me that this is a grassroots organization, funded by individuals chipping in what they can when they can. A lot of political organizations only cash big checks from those who already have outsized power in our democracy.

I believe that building real power comes from the people who believe in this work enough to pitch in what they can to fund it. I hope you’ll chip in today and build the operation we need to defeat Trumpism next year?
