I can't believe what Republicans just did. After 3 weeks of chaos and infighting they finally found a Speaker that 217 Republicans could agree on.

Mike Johnson isn't a houshold name, people are googling him just to find out who he is. But let me warn you right now: he's as dangerous as anyone in the Speaker's chair.

After Donald Trump torpedoed other alternatives, the MAGA movement finally got what they wanted. Mike Johnson was the ARCHITECT of Donald Trump's effort to throw out the votes of millions of Americans and overturn the 2020 election. He's the sponsor of three different bills to ban abortion nationwide. As chair of the right-wing Republican Study Group he introduced a budget that would cut social security benefits, raise the retirement age, and privatize Social Security.

I'm ready to prevent our new Speaker from enacting his radical right-wing agenda. These last three weeks the House could have been focusing on issues that matter, like the impending government shutdown that's now just three weeks away. Instead Republicans have turned us into a laughing stock.

Democrats need to win the majority in 2024 or this type of chaos will continue for another two years. A Speaker Johnson with President Trump would be an unmitigated disaster for our country.
