Jack, sign the petition: House Republicans have rallied around an election denier. We must never forget this happened.

After repeatedly failing to pick a leader, House Republicans have finally elected Rep. Mike Johnson as the next Speaker. Johnson is an election denier, a supporter of the Big Lie, and has played a key role in the attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

But we're not allowed to ask about his insurrectionist involvement. When Rachel Scott of ABC News tried, she was shouted down by a chorus of boos from House Republicans. One member even told her to "shut up," and Johnson quickly said, "next question."

Sign if you are angry: This is the Republican mindset. Shout down the opposition.

Johnson may not employ the hysterical antics of someone like Jim Jordan, but he was one of the intellectual leaders of House efforts to overturn President Joe Biden’s 2020 win. He offered a supposedly constitutional argument for Congress to block certification of the results.

Mike Johnson is an insurrectionist, but House Republicans don't want you to know that. They will literally shout you down, even if it's a mainstream TV journalist. This is the modern-day Republican Party, and no sugarcoating can hide the reality that he is an election denier.
