John, I'm reaching out today because I need your help.

A group of donors has generously agreed to match all gifts to Brady up to our $75,000 goal! But we need to raise $50,000 in order to unlock those funds — and the deadline is at 11:59 p.m. tonight!

Can I count on you, John? I'm about to explain why this fight is so important to me, but first, please, will you rush a donation right now to ensure these match funds are unlocked to fuel our fight? Every dollar helps us get closer to a future free from gun violence.

On Dec. 5, 2003, my mom opened the door to her home and was shot and killed by a man who shouldn’t have been able to possess a firearm. My family and I were changed forever.

I was only 26 that day my world changed forever. In December, it will be 20 years without my mom and while the pain and grief has gone through many phases, it remains. Two decades worth of holidays, milestones, phone calls, and advice. Two kids who never got to meet their grandmother. The loss is undeniable, but it’s also why I fight every day to make this country a better place, one safe for my kids – and all of us.

I found my voice with Brady, advocating for reform alongside other survivors who are facing an unimaginable reality every day – and we’re fighting hard so that no one else has to. So that no one else loses a mom, a child, a loved one. And, I'm counting on you to join us: Please, will you rush a donation before 11:59 p.m. tonight to help us unlock this huge match opportunity? In a fight as important as this one, we can't afford to leave anything on the table.

Every day, more than 100 Americans are killed by gun violence. Whether they're killed in random acts of violence like my mom or at a mass shooting that makes headlines across the country, their families are left with unimaginable grief — the kind of pain that never goes away.

But it doesn't have to be this way. We don't have to live in a country where so many of our loved ones are killed by gun violence. We don't have to live in a country where anyone can purchase an assault weapon.

That's exactly what Brady is for, in communities all across the country. And this $75,000-match is an incredible opportunity to power that lifesaving work. So please, if you have anything to spare today, will you make a donation to unlock this match and help Brady end the gun violence epidemic? I'm counting on you to dig deep here.

Thank you so much for all that you do.

With gratitude and hope,
