 If you’ve been watching the Republican Civil War happening in the House right now, you might recognize me. I have gotten up (11 times now) to nominate Hakeem Jeffries as the next Speaker of the House of Representatives. The chaos we’re seeing on the House Floor isn’t the history any of us wanted to make when we were sworn into office. Each member of the House Democratic Caucus serves because they want to deliver for the American people. Instead of getting to work for the people by delivering national security aid, protecting our fundamental rights, and keeping the lights on by funding the government the House has been held hostage by extremism and partisanship. If the last 22 days have shown us anything, it is the importance of regaining the House Majority in 2024. To do that, we have to flip just 5 seats and win our races in competitive districts.
