** Economic Democracy Weekly
------------------------------------------------------------
Today’s Economic Democracy Weekly highlights solidarity’s vital role in economic justice movements. We begin with a story from the labor movement, analyzing the many strikes this October. Next comes an article in which food co-op leaders discuss the vital role of solidarity in avoiding gentrification. Following that, our series, “Building Power, Fighting Displacement: Stories from Asian Pacific America,” concludes with a community-building story from White Center, a multiracial suburb of Seattle. Finally, from our recent webinar on “movement economies,” Johanna Bozuwa offers her take on lessons of mutual aid and movement infrastructure building stemming from community responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
