John,
First, the good news: Secretary Simon and the legislature in Minnesota passed a new law that restores the right to vote to 55,000 people who left prison behind.
Then, the bad news: a lone judge, without any authority or prompting, declared this new law unconstitutional.
What we’re doing about it: Secretary Simon and Attorney General Ellison are fighting back.
They are confident that they can rectify this ruling, but they need your help. With elections in Minnesota just a few days away, we need to amplify our message and correct the record. The message is this: The judge’s ruling has no statewide reach. There should be no confusion about the fact that the law restoring the vote remains in full force.
We need another 5,000 people to join us by making a contribution of ANY size before our end-of-month fundraising deadline. John, will you chip in now?
If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process now. |
