We launched a statewide clean energy canvass

This month I’m excited to share that we launched our clean energy canvass to talk to folks at the door about President Biden’s Affordable Clean Energy Plan and how they can save money while making clean energy improvements on their home. I'm not going to lie, as I walked up to knock on my first door, I was nervous that talking to people about tax credits for clean energy and energy efficiency wouldn’t land. But, after my second, third…tenth conversation, I was over the moon with how impactful our program is. I’m seeing first-hand how excited people are about these benefits, and the money they can save on clean energy investments and upgrades. This program will help take literal tons of carbon out of the air – and that starts with face-to-face conversations.
Before December, we plan to knock on 80,000 doors and have 15,000 conversations about President Biden's Affordable Clean Energy Plan. There’s no doubt – your support got us here. Conservation voters like you are making our vision of a clean energy future a reality.

An update on PFAS legislation
To say the least, we are extremely frustrated. After working with key legislators for months on the Senate Bill 312, the PFAS legislation that would determine how the $125 million in the state budget is spent, legislators sided with corporate polluters rather than protecting the health of communities.
For months, we worked with the constituents in the most impacted areas of the state to help them call their legislators and ask for the poison pill to be removed from the bill. But Sens. Eric Wimberger, Rob Cowles, and Cory Tomcyzk ignored those calls and drafted a bill that would let polluters off the hook for the contamination they create.
Now we need to go back to the drawing board and focus first-and-foremost on legislation that establishes a municipal grant program and a private well owner grant program without undermining Wisconsin’s Spills Law. Every moment legislators spend delaying action, further harms communities. So, we will not stop fighting until there is legislation that addresses this health crisis.

Engaging Native youth in Forest County Potawatomi
On Friday, Oct. 13, we celebrated Indigenous Peoples Day with Native youth at the Forest County Potawatomi (FCP) Community Center. Students from local high schools came together to hear from speakers at Action for Climate Emergency (ACE) and FCP about climate solutions and civic engagement.
Our Native Vote organizer Stacey White, member of FCP, organized this incredible event filled with laughter, learning, and genuine conversations. “Our young people are our future. Their actions, involvement, and future votes are vital for the survival of our cultures, languages, and our ways of life,” she said.

- Wisconsin State Journal [[link removed]]: Twenty one republicans in the State Senate voted against four highly qualified Gov. Evers appointees in the Natural Resources Board. Our statement got picked up in the Wisconsin State Journal.
- WORT FM [[link removed]]: We joined our partners in the Wisconsin Voting Rights Coalition for a public telling on fair maps to show the dangers of the redistricting bill.
