Iceland Prime Minister joins strike for women's equality

The Prime Minister of Iceland is striking with women across the country as part of a campaign to push for gender equality. Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir told the news site Iceland Monitor that she will not work on the day of the strike, known as "Women's Day Off" or "Kvennafrí" in Icelandic.

BILL: Should we promote tuition-free college? - College for All Act of 2023 - H.R.4117

First introduced in 2015, the bill amends Lyndon B. Johnson's Higher Education Act of 1965 to ensure College for All.

Guarantees tuition-free community college for all students. Enables students from single households earning up to $125,000 a year, and married households earning up to $250,000 a year to attend college without fear of being forced into debt.

Rep. Tom Emmer voted next House Speaker nominee

House Republicans selected Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) to be their speaker nominee following several rounds of voting. The vote took place behind closed doors via secret ballot. Rep. Emmer is the House majority whip, and was backed by Rep. Kevin McCarthy.
