On Wednesday, October 18th The Center partnered with The New York Transgender Advocacy Group (NYTAG), Drag Out the Vote, and Free to Be Youth to host a Serve the Vote Kiki Ball and a Voter Registration event. The evening focused on giving voice to the Trans and Non-binary community to defeat anti-trans legislation on local and national levels.
Attendees gathered for a lively kiki, where the energy was contagious, but the focus remained on registering new voters. The Serve the Vote Ball not only made civic involvement fun and approachable but also underscored the essential role of black and brown voters in the democratic landscape. Volunteers were on hand to assist new voters through the registration process, making it accessible and easy for all.
Speaker, activist, and organizer Julie J shared valuable insights on the significance of civic engagement, reminding attendees of their role in shaping the future of their community and nation.
Every vote counts and participating in the democratic process is a privilege and a responsibility. Click HERE for more information on registering to vote in NYS today! [[link removed]]
