A Healthy DFW Creates Independence For Each Member of the Community


Nonprofits in Dallas and Collin Counties say they have now provided permanent housing to 2,700 people. Housing Forward launched its mission working with nonprofits in 2020.


Housing Forward has set a goal to help 6,000 people find housing by the end of 2025. The organization says chronic homelessness has dropped 32% and unsheltered homelessness has dropped 14%.

New statistics from the Dallas Police Department show violent crime fell in targeted hot spots during the second year of its violent crime reduction plan.


Police Chief Eddie Garcia and Mayor Eric Johnson spoke with CBS News Texas about the plan during a joint exclusive interview.


Some residents said the city's program has helped make a life-changing difference for their family.
