Celebrate Women's History Month

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which expanded the right to vote to women across the country. Honor this constitutional milestone in your classroom for Women's History Month! The National Constitution Center has all of the resources you need to celebrate all month long.

The We the People podcast has several episodes about the history, and future, of women's rights in America.

Listen to The Constitutional Legacy of Seneca Falls to hear about what happened at the historic convention, and how its legacy shaped the Constitution through the fight for women’s suffrage and the 19th Amendment and, later, landmark gender equality and reproductive rights cases, including Roe v. Wade.
The episode Will the Equal Rights Amendment be Adopted? explores the fast-developing constitutional question of whether an amendment that declares that “equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of sex” will be adopted, despite its unusual ratification process.

From Suffrage to Workplace Equality includes prominent scholars Nancy Cott of Harvard University, Neil Siegel of Duke University School of Law, and Yale Law School’s Reva Siegel discussing the evolution of the 19th Amendment’s guarantee of women’s equality from suffrage to present day.
