Dear John,

Early this year, the Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid pharmacy chains announced plans to surpass Planned Parenthood as America's leading abortion providers...

...distributing dangerous and deadly abortion drugs alongside birthday cards and candy bars.

But as the pharmacies finish getting certified to sell abortions through their drive-through windows, 40 Days for Life campaigns are fighting back.

"Sandusky has covered all our [vigil] hours so far," reported Lisa, who is leading her city's first campaign near the CVS pharmacy. "We are on a very busy corner and are reaching a lot of people."

40 Days for Life outreach director and former abortion worker Ramona Trevino recently visited Sandusky and witnessed the impact Lisa and her team are having on their community.

"A Protestant pastor from a neighboring city attended the vigil with his congregants," Ramona said. "He heard about the event and wanted to come 'check it out.' He was happy he did."

Ramona said that a few attendees didn't know how chemical abortions work and appreciated Ramona being there to educate them about the dangers and complications that come with abortion pills.

"Our 40 Days for Life vigil has been such a wonderful blessing to everyone who has been a part of it," Lisa said.

Rhinelander, Wisconsin

Joni is leading her second straight 40 Days for Life campaign in front of her local Walgreens--and the sacrifices she's making are heroic.

"Joni is 'out there' nearly every day," reported Jim, who leads the 40 Days for Life campaign in Green Bay, Wisconsin. "Her courage...is encouraging others."

In a town of just 8,300 people, word spreads fast. Passersby are stopping to pray with Joni, encourage her, and even bring her hot cocoa.

"I had a great encounter with a man who drove up and talked to me," Joni reported. "He said he's been waiting to see something like this."

Claremont, New Hampshire

A woman approached vigil participants in front of the Claremont CVS to thank them for their prayers and presence.

"She'd had an abortion in her young life and wishes someone had been out there praying for her and offering help," reported Becky, the local leader. "Now, she's a born-again believer and has five grown sons! I've read stories about this happening at other vigils, but now that we've experienced it, we have renewed purpose and hope."

Becky's campaign is growing stronger as the vigil continues. "On Saturday, we had our longest day of coverage, including two first-timers," she said.

Bartlett, Illinois

During the Lenten 40 Days for Life vigil, Brett and his team were given permission to set up their vigil on the property of a nearby bank.

This fall, however, the bank rescinded that permission--so Brett reached out to his local police department for help determining where his volunteers could stand and pray.

The new location hasn't slowed the Bartlett team's momentum at all.

"Even though we are across the street, we now face [the CVS] front door," Brett explained. "We had a lot of exposure and traffic because of the new banner we received."

And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice.

--Luke 17:15

Dear Lord, thank you for the innumerable babies and mothers who have been saved from abortion through 40 Days for Life. And thank you in advance for the lives that will be changed through this campaign. Work in our own hearts so that we might see every circumstance as a chance to grow closer to you and to express our thanksgiving for your faithfulness. Amen.

For life,
