United States Troops Attacked 13 Times by Terror Groups, Dozens of Soldiers Injured

Fox News: U.S. troops positioned in the Middle East have been attacked 13 times in the last week with a mix of one-way drones and rockets, according to Pentagon officials. U.S. Department of Defense spokesman Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder confirmed Tuesday that troops in Iraq had been attacked 10 times between Oct. 17-24, while during the same period troops in Syria had been attacked three times. Pentagon officials said that all the attacks on U.S. troops have Iran’s fingerprints on them, though there is no evidence at this time showing the country’s leaders ordered the attacks (Fox News). Jacqui Heinrich: Two dozen service members were injured last week from the drone and rocket attacks on U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria (X). RNC Research: KIRBY: “Nobody’s turning a blind eye to Iran’s complicity!” Biden unlocked a $6 billion gift for Iran last month. Before that, he unlocked a $10 billion gift. And before that, he stopped enforcing sanctions on Iranian oil (another ~$80 billion) (X).

Saudi Arabia Intercepts Missile Headed Toward Israel in Show of Historical Support
Times of Israel: Saudi Arabia intercepted one of the cruise missiles fired toward Israel last week by Iran-backed Houthi rebels, The Wall Street Journal reveals. The US was known to have shot down the other four missiles from its USS Carney guided missile cruiser but Saudi involvement in the missile defense actions had been unknown until now. Saudi Arabia’s Patriot Missile Defense array is supplied by the US. The US has said the missiles were likely headed toward Israel (Times of Israel). Journalist Anshel Pfeffer: Saudis intercept an Iranian/Yemeni missile heading toward a target to Israel. That’s pretty historic (X).

Ben Rhodes: Israel “has the right to go after the military wing of Hamas”
Like we went after the military wing of the Nazi regime? Rhodes: Israel has legitimate security concerns and has the right to go after the military wing of Hamas, a faction that has proven to be the worst version of itself (NYBooks). Rhodes was Deputy National Security Advisor under Obama, the administration that gave us the JCPOA and the pallets full of cash to Iran, funding the entire Iran terror network (WSJ).

Israel Ambassador Calls for U.N. Secretary General to Resign After Insinuating Israel Had the Attack Coming
Fox News: Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations is ripping the “horrible views” that U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres expressed at a meeting of the Security Council on Tuesday and is calling for his resignation. Ambassador Gilad Erdan described Guterres’ remarks as “shocking” for stating that the Oct. 7 terror attacks on Israel by Hamas “did not happen in a vacuum” and that the “Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation.” Erdan then demanded that Guterres resign, the first time an Israeli ambassador has called for a sitting U.N. secretary-general to step down (Fox News). Reporter Sprinter: Israel condemns UN for calling for ceasefire. “I heard calls for proportionality, I heard calls for a ceasefire. Tell me, what should be the proportional response to the murder of babies, to the rape and burning of women, to the beheading of children? How can you agree to a ceasefire with someone who is sworn to kill and destroy your own existence? The proportionate response to the October 7 massacre is the total destruction of Hamas. This is not only Israel’s right, it is our duty,” said Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen (X). Ambassador Gilad Erdan: The UN Secretary-General, who shows understanding for the campaign of mass murder of children, women, and the elderly, is not fit to lead the UN. I call on him to resign immediately. There is no justification or point in talking to those who show compassion for the most terrible atrocities committed against the citizens of Israel and the Jewish people. There are simply no words (X).

Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) Refuses to Believe Israel Did Not Bomb Hospital in Gaza
National Review: Representative Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.), a member of the progressive Squad group, still refuses to accept Palestinian responsibility for the hospital blast that occurred in Gaza last week. Last week, major U.S. news outlets quickly ran with Hamas’s claim that an Israeli air strike hit a Gaza hospital where civilians were sheltering. U.S. intelligence has since debunked the claim, revealing that the blast resulted from a misfired Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket (National Review). New York Post: The New York Times, which initially pinned the bombing on Israel, citing Hamas, walked back its reporting on Monday, admitting it “relied too heavily” on information from the terror group. Investigations by the Wall Street Journal, CNN and the Associated Press have also found evidence that the missile came from the terrorist organization — and not Israel — based on television footage they said appeared to show a misfired Palestinian rocket in the air above the hospital (New York Post).

Washington DC Mayor Revokes Laws Put in Place During George Floyd Riots Due to Crime Spree
Daily Mail: After Washington, DC, leaders pushed to defund police at the height of the Black Lives Matter movement, the city’s mayor is now pushing a new law that would give police more tools to make arrests in the crime-riddled capital. Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the Addressing Crime Trends Now Act on Monday, which includes policies to clarify what qualifies as an illegal neck restraint and efforts to tackle drug crime and retail theft (Daily Mail). Fox 5: The announcement came as crime rates across the District continue to rise. Violent crime is up 41%, robberies are up 70%, and homicides are up 33%, according to the city’s most recent crime data. Sex abuse reports, assaults with dangerous weapon reports and property crimes are also up (Fox 5).

Oregon Suspends Requirements in Several Subjects for Students to Graduate Citing Racism
National Review: Oregon suspended last week the graduation requirement for math, reading, and writing proficiency until the 2027-2028 school year, citing its discriminatory effect on minority students. On Thursday, the Oregon State Board of Education voted unanimously to extend the benchmark pause, which was first instituted in 2020 during Covid (National Review). Fox News: Board members said the standards were unnecessary and harmed marginalized students since higher rates of students of color, students with disabilities and students learning English as a second language ended up having to take the extra step to prove they deserved a diploma (Fox News).

United States Has Gone Three Weeks Without a Speaker of the House
Never before in the history of our nation have we gone this long without a Speaker of the House. Just the News: The crowded GOP House speaker election gets underway on Tuesday with 8 candidates after the conclusion of a closed-door candidates forum on Monday night, marking 3 weeks without a chamber leader (Just the News). U.K. Education Secretary Says Parents Have a Right to See Sex Education Material Handed Out in School
National Review: The U.K. Education Secretary has informed all English schools that parents have a right to see materials in the Relationship, Sex and Health Education curriculum. “Today I’m writing to schools and parents to debunk the copyright myth that parents cannot see what their children are being taught,” Education Secretary Gillian Keegan, a member of the Conservative Party, wrote in an open letter sent all English schools on Tuesday. “Parents must be empowered to ask and schools should have the confidence to share.” The letter clarifies that copyright laws cannot be used as a justification to prevent sharing relationship, sex, and health materials with parents (National Review). Gillian Keegan: No ifs, no buts and no more excuses: parents have a right to know what their children are being taught. I have acted today to make clear that schools must share RSHE materials with parents (X).

Secretary Mayorkas’ Cell Phone App to Monitor Immigrants Has Allowed Over 265,000 Illegals Into the Country
Washington Examiner: A government-run cellphone app meant to curtail illegal immigration has resulted in more than a quarter of a million immigrants being released into the United States. The CBP One app was introduced in January to provide noncitizens with an orderly way to enter the country through screening appointments to determine admissibility. The Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection agency granted admission to immigrants who were not refugees in 95% of cases. Of the 278,431 immigrants who were able to request an appointment with CBP’s officers at ports of entry between Jan. 12 and Sept. 30, officers granted admission to 266,846 people. “Secretary Mayorkas has utterly abused the CBP One app in his quest for open borders,” said Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) in a statement. “These numbers are proof that Mayorkas’ operation is a smokescreen for the mass release of individuals into this country who would otherwise have zero claim to be admitted. At a time when global tensions are rising, and our enemies are growing bolder, releasing tens of thousands of these people into our communities — especially when they have not received adequate, if any, vetting — is irresponsible.” Immigrants who were admitted following appointments were given a notice to appear in immigration court about their ability to remain in the country, proceedings that will not lead to a decision for several years due to the 2 million case backlog before the less than 700 judges nationwide (Washington Examiner).
