The Living Wage has been updated. The new rate is £12 an hour, or £13.15 in London.

We hope that all churches will prioritise paying this new rate as soon as possible, given the challenges faced especially by people on low incomes during this cost of living crisis.

This is a good time to remind everyone that the Minimum Wage premium introduced by the Government in 2016 is not a Living Wage, despite being labelled as a 'National Living Wage'. Churches are still committed to pay the Real Living Wage, which is higher and has been calculated to allow people to afford a minimum acceptable standard of living.
