Hey John --
You and I both know there’s a million problems that need fixing. In
politics, you've got to find a way to prioritise them. You never know
how long you’re here for, so you use your power while you have it.
So after the last election, I wrote down all the things I wanted to
fix, and I ruled out everything that didn't meet these three
conditions:
- It has to be achievable.
- It has to open the door to bigger changes in the future.
- It has to be something that won’t happen unless I push it.
That's why I’m focused on a Royal Commission into veteran suicides,
cleaning up political corruption in Canberra, and forcing the major
parties to take a firm stand on foreign interference undermining our
sovereignty and our democracy.
But that point number one – if it’s achievable – is really not just
up to me. It’s going to take thousands of people, working together, to
win the day and make these big things happen.
Thousands of people are putting their hands up to join
the fight. I’m writing to you to ask you if you’ll fight with them
too.
It's your call.
Pick
a favourite, pick a couple, pick all of them. Just pick a side and
fight for it. That's what I'm asking.
I’m dead serious when I say that these campaigns are my absolute
focus. There’s a million distractions in politics, but I refuse to get
caught up in the day-to-day stuffing around. I’m here to get things
done. Do you want to get things done with
me?
