Dear John,
Pesticides endanger bees and butterflies. But these poisons put more than
pollinators at risk. A recent EPA risk assessment confirmed that bee-killing
neonics harm bees, birds, aquatic animals, and even humans.
Unfortunately, Trump’s EPA still refuses to protect bees, people and our planet
from neonics. Instead -- and despite its own science to the contrary -- the
administration is still doing far too little to restrict these pesticides.
The good news: The recent EPA report has forced the administration to seek
public input on neonic regulations. This is your chance to push for a national
ban on neonics NOW! Will you help send this message to the EPA?

The EPA’s words and actions contradict each other. On one hand, the agency has
broadened its understanding and said it takes less exposure to neonics to harm
bees and other species. On the other, despite recognizing how dangerous these
poisons are to people and pollinators, the agency is still refusing to take
action and ban them.
Research shows neonics are a threat to species on land, in the air, and even in
the sea. We’ve long known that neonics are a key driver of bee declines --
causing beekeepers to lose an average of nearly half of their hives last year.
The first study of neonic impacts on mammals found that they were also hurting
white-tail deer. And the recent EPA study finally acknowledged the harm neonics
cause to humans.
Bees and other pollinators can’t wait any longer. People can’t wait any longer.
We need a national neonics ban NOW!

from bee-killing neonics!

Neonics are still the most widely used insecticides in the world. They’re
long-lasting and systemic, staying in the environment for years. We can’t even
wash these poisons off our food.
Each day the EPA fails to act, our bees, butterflies and environment suffer. And
the Trump Administration keeps giving the pesticide industry a free pass to
endanger people and our planet. But now we have even more of the science on our
side. So we must speak up and we must be loud.
Together we can protect bees, butterflies, and our entire ecosystem. But we
still need your help sending a loud resounding message to the EPA. Can we count
on your support?
