Dear John,

Join us in prayer for our upcoming mission in Lomé, Togo's capital. The proclamation period for this mission will be from the 25th to the 31st of May.

Togo is a nation desperate for the light of the Gospel.

*
According to the International Monetary Fund, Togo is the tenth-poorest country in the world.
*
Corruption and gross human rights violations have become all too common in Togo, and there is low confidence in the integrity of public institutions.
*
Togo has recently emerged as a hub of drug trafficking and money laundering in Western Africa.
*
Animist beliefs are very widespread, even within churches, and Lome is home to the largest voodoo market in the world.

However, Togo’s time of transformation has come! After many years of prayer, the doors have finally opened in the past few years for AE to coordinate mission, and approximately 400 leaders will be participating in the May proclamation. AE training for these has already begun.

Ben Sachie, AE team leader from neighbouring Ghana and his staff will lead the local churches in this upcoming citywide outreach. The mission will be accompanied by social action initiatives such as cleaning the main street at the start of mission, providing vocational apprenticeship opportunities.

Please pray for:

*
Animist beliefs are very widespread, even within churches, and Lome is home to the largest voodoo market in the world.

* The Discipleship training happening over the next few weeks in Lome and Atapame.
* That we will obtain the necessary visas for visiting international evangelists from France and DRC.
* Pray that the partnership with Prison Fellowship in Togo will lead to a great harvest amongst inmates.
* Pray that the Spirit would be going ahead to convict many of sin and righteousness.
* For relief from the spritual, physical, and economic oppression.
* There is little evangelical witness at public universities, pray for more evangelism and discipleship amongst these future leaders.
* Pray that the churches of Togo will be re-invigorated to pursue the Great Commission.
* Praise God for the Day of Prayer that AE co-ordinated in the lead up to the recent election.
