…and Republicans STILL haven’t chosen a speaker

The New York Times
BREAKING: Emmer Drops Speaker Bid After Right-Wing Backlash

Tom Emmer, the House G.O.P.'s No. 3 leader, narrowly won his party's nomination but drew an immediate backlash from right-wing colleagues and former President Donald J. Trump.

john,

It's been three weeks since Speaker McCarthy was ousted as speaker - since then, Republicans have already failed three times to select his replacement.

Today, Majority Whip Tom Emmer won the speaker nomination – but after Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and over 20+ MAGA Republican members spoke out against him, Emmer was forced to drop out just hours later.

It may be some time before a speaker is elected and this chaos ends.

We have just two weeks to prevent a government shutdown, but still, Republicans have shown they cannot even work amongst themselves, let alone govern responsibly.

Americans are tired of the chaos Republicans are causing. That's why no matter who the Republicans choose as the next speaker, we must ensure that Democrats retake the House majority in 2024.

To do that, we need to re-elect Kim here in one of the country's most contested swing districts. Will you chip in $5 or whatever you can afford to help Kim keep WA-08 blue and Democrats retake the House majority in 2024?
