Hi John.

I often hear from Kansans who have concerns about crime and keeping their families safe. It's important to me to stay in touch with you and answer your questions. So, I hope you'll join me tomorrow – Wednesday, October 25th, at 6:00 PM – for my Call with your Congresswoman on public safety.

You deserve to be safe. Thankfully, despite the noise in Washington, I am glad to have worked with both Republicans and Democrats to protect Kansans. That includes delivering federal funds for local police across the Kansas Third District.

Please click here to join our call list so you can take part. I'm looking forward to answering your questions.

I’m looking forward to answering your questions tomorrow on public safety and other issues that may be on your mind. I’ll be joined by two special guests – Wyandotte County Sheriff Daniel Soptic and the Executive Director of the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program, Dan Neill.

No one should have to fear walking home at night or dropping their kids off at school. That's why I've made it a priority to ensure Kansas is always a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.

That critical work begins by partnering with our local police departments. My mom is an Army veteran and served in law enforcement for a time herself. I know police officers have difficult jobs. At a minimum, Congress must deliver funds they need so they can do their jobs and protect our communities.

That's why I've delivered more than $27 million in federal public safety grants to hire more police officers, prevent crime, and get criminals off our streets. That includes support for police departments across our region – in Overland Park, Gardner, and more.

I'm also working with both Republicans and Democrats to build a better future. That includes investing in crime prevention, mental health, and support for people suffering from substance abuse.

Congress has a lot more to do, so I am looking forward to hearing more about your concerns tomorrow. If you haven't joined our call list, please click here to do so now.

It's an honor to serve you and your family in the U.S. House of Representatives. I'm here to serve every person and corner of our community – regardless of party.

If you have any questions or would like to share your views, please feel free to contact me.

My warmest regards,
