# HYPOCRISY
It's unbelievable John,
Two days ago, the incumbent in MO-1 tweeted his support for #HR2339, which aims to protect youth from tobacco products and specifically ban flavored products. The catch? Lacy Clay has received donations from Big Tobacco almost every cycle in the last two decades. He has received $2,500 this cycle alone from multiple tobacco companies including Juul, now notorious for its targeted marketing to young people.
Clay has branded himself an advocate for “the youth and citizens of STL,“ while claiming he has been and will continue to fight the tobacco industry. But in reality, he’s one of a few Democrats in the house who has received campaign donations from Big Tobacco companies, including PACs and corporations that won’t be affected by the passage of #HR2339. In fact, he received more tobacco money than 44 GOP members of the House.
