You may remember that, back in 2021, dozens of Texas Democrats left the state to stymie Republican efforts to force through a massive voter suppression bill known as SB 1. Ultimately, SB 1 did pass — and Voto Latino has been fighting it ever since.

Our lawsuit, which was consolidated along with five other suits, is expected to come to an end this week. The suit challenges provisions of SB 1 that would:
❌ Make it harder for Texans to vote by mail
❌ Restrict access to ballot drop boxes
❌ Ban drive-thru voting 
❌ Cut back early voting hours

While we don't know how the court will rule, we do know this: MAGA Republicans will never end their efforts to restrict voting rights. And then means we can never end our efforts to protect the right to vote.
