Prepare to Re-Engage the Battle

All momentum stopped for any legislation, including H.R. 2, The Secure the Border Act, on October 5th when the House voted to "vacate the chair of the Speaker." Since then, pressure to provide funding to support the war in Ukraine, and to provide relief to Israel, has mounted while the House remains unable to act on any legislation, including securing the border!

When a Speaker is elected and when the House returns to business it will have a short time to address the need for a continuing resolution (CR) in order to keep the Government open. The deadline is November 17: less than 4 Fridays from today. Meanwhile, CBP released September border figures on Friday that continue to break records and show that the border remains in crisis.

Due to the short timeframe to act on aid for Ukraine and Israel, as well as a continuing resolution to keep the government open, an opportunity exists for House leaders to demand that any "must pass" bills include H.R. 2, The Secure the Border Act, which has already passed the House of Representatives.

Even if you believe your Members of Congress do not support controlling immigration, you still need to send this to them! They need to know that the Secure the Border Act is the price for passing a continuing resolution!
