Biden Takes Away School Lunches in the Name of LGBT Rights

The Biden administration is bullying schools out of their lunch money. For over a year, public schools have had no choice but to allow boys in girls' restrooms or lose their funding for school lunches. Democrats are effectively stealing children’s lunches to get their way.

In May 2022, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) weaponized Title IX’s prohibition on sex discrimination to make public schools comply with their radical LGBT agenda. After redefining “sex” to include gender ideology, they have tried eliminating all privacy rights for girls and women.

The USDA’s Food and Nutrition Services claims its mission is to “reduce hunger” and “provide children and low-income people access to food.” Yet they are willing to deny food to the vulnerable in states and schools that choose not to advance their radical agenda.

Under the Congressional Review Act, Congress can reject Executive Branch rulemaking as part of their Constitutional duty of checks and balances. Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) is using this tool to advance a resolution for Congressional disapproval of this guidance (S.J.Res. 42 ([link removed]) ). Also, 22 state attorneys General have sued the Department of Agriculture over this proposed rule. ([link removed])

Sen. Marshall explained his legislation in a press release saying ([link removed]) :

The USDA has NO authority to force our children to adhere to woke mandates such as requiring biological boys to be given access to girls' bathrooms and locker rooms, or allow biological boys to compete against biological girls in girls' sports. My message with this CRA is clear: Don’t hold children’s lunch hostage in pursuit of your woke agenda.

We ask that you contact your Senators TODAY and ask them to vote YES on S.J. Res. 42, Senator Marshall’s disapproval resolution regarding the USDA’s decision to tie funding of school lunches to the adoption of their LGBT agenda. This vote could occur as early as this Thursday.
