WORLD-RENOWNED PIANIST LANG LANG HELPS STRENGTHEN MARINE CONSERVATION THROUGH SONG
[link removed]

We're honored to have pianist Lang Lang join us for our "Play Your Part in the Ocean’s Symphony ([link removed]) " campaign, which calls on the public in China to help protect marine biodiversity by supporting marine protected areas (MPAs) and the conservation of iconic ocean wildlife.

Hailed by The New York Times as “the hottest classical music artist on the planet” and ranked among “the world’s 100 most influential people” by Time magazine, Lang Lang has served as WildAid ambassador for more than 12 years, committed to protecting endangered wildlife and nature.

The campaign video ([link removed]) features Lang Lang playing his song “Stay,” and dramatically highlights the beauty and importance of conserving the marine life in China’s waters such as whale sharks, sea turtles, dolphins, and spotted seals.

** UNITING WITH CAMEROON’S TRADITIONAL TRIBAL LEADERS TO PROTECT THE PANGOLIN
------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]

Earlier this year, we teamed up with prominent traditional tribal leaders throughout Cameroon ([link removed]) to help protect the country's forests and wildlife species—particularly the endangered pangolin.

Pangolins are considered vital guardians of Cameroon's natural heritage due to their crucial role in maintaining the health of the country's forests. Cameroonian forests are not only important for the survival of the pangolin but also for the survival of the country's people. They provide resources that are essential to the daily life of millions of Cameroonians who rely on forests for food and for medicine to treat various illnesses including malaria and cancer. Forests are also intimately linked to their traditional practices and cultural identity.

We placed 48 billboards across five major Cameroonian cities for six months, and generated significant coverage in Cameroon print, TV, and radio. Leaders also gave interviews on TV and radio to endorse our messaging that protecting Cameroon’s forests and pangolins is critical to the survival of the country’s people, while also linking nature to their traditional beliefs.

Our Instagram and Facebook posts highlighting the campaign reached over 550,000 people in Cameroon, generated 170,000 video views, and earned over 9,000 engagements (likes, shares, saves, comments).

** THERE'S STILL HOPE FOR OUR OCEANS: WILDAID’S MARINE PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTED IN VIDEO BY THE EARTHSHOT PRIZE
------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]

In case you missed it, WildAid’s marine program is one of 15 finalists for The Earthshot Prize ([link removed]) ! This global environmental award celebrates and champions innovators focused on repairing and regenerating our planet.

We’re thrilled to share this incredible video ([link removed]) , crafted by The Earthshot Prize, featuring WildAid’s marine program plus ABALOBI ([link removed]) and Rare’s Coastal 500 ([link removed]) —our fellow finalists in the Revive Our Oceans category.

“We didn't even know who the other finalists were when these videos were captured, and yet the messaging across our organizations was incredibly consistent: work in collaboration with coastal communities to empower them to become stewards of the ocean, and the ocean will thrive. Conservation is a team sport, and I'm so glad we are in this together.” —Meaghan Brosnan, WildAid’s Chief Operating Officer

A HUGE thanks to you—our partners and supporters, each member of the WildAid team, and all who made this honor possible! Stay tuned to hear more from the Awards Ceremony in Singapore ([link removed]) on Tuesday, November 7.
