30 years ago, Velda Francis came here from Jamaica to build a better life for her family. After her first attempt at a citizenship interview, Velda Francis' Rian attorney referred her to our citizenship tutoring program. If she did not succeed a second time, she would have to start the whole process again from the beginning. However, Velda had faith, and trusted her tutor and attorney to guide her towards success. Velda worked very hard, and after months of studying, she passed her second interview. On December 8, 2022, Velda Francis became a naturalized citizen of the United States. She, and other clients like her, are the very reason why Rian Immigrant Center exists. We are proud to honor her hard work. |
