Nobody should have to go without care because they can’t afford it.
John,
"Medicare Advantage" is one of the great misrepresentations. Only one group is seeing the “Advantage” here – private insurance companies.
A recent report from The Lever found that corporate insurers are exploiting the trusted Medicare name to privatize the system and deny comprehensive coverage to seniors and Americans with disabilities. They report record profits while taking nearly $140 billion annually from the federal government, money that could go towards providing Medicare patients with the care they need.
The “Save Medicare Act” addresses private insurers’ predatory and deceptive practices by renaming so-called "Medicare Advantage" plans, prohibiting private insurers from using "Medicare" in plan titles or advertisements, and imposing significant fines for any insurer that engages in this deceptive practice.
Nobody should have to go without care because they can’t afford it.
