The Puget Sound Partnership Ecosystem Coordination Board will meet on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Smart Building Center, 1200 12th Ave. S, Seattle, WA 98144.
All are welcome to attend the meeting. With the expiration of the Governor?s COVID-19 State of Emergency, masking for Partnership staff, board members, and attendees is voluntary. We continue to strongly support those who choose to wear a mask.
We?ll be providing an all-virtual livestream of this meeting, through TVW (link below). We highly encourage partners and other members of the public to use this virtual option, if possible, to reduce carbon emissions and to minimize COVID risks for everyone.?

Meeting highlights include:
- A presentation and discussion about Local Integrating Organization (LIO) program visioning. This session will include an overview of the history of the LIO program; a discussion about the results of the visioning work done by LIO program coordinators that developed a vision, a set of values, and a set of objectives for the LIO program; and a discussion about strategic planning and program development. Presentation by Harriet Booth, LIO program coordinator at the Puget Sound Partnership, Mary Ann Rozance, coordinator for the South Central LIO, and Kathleen Pozarycki, coordinator for the Snohomish-Stillaguamish LIO.?
- A forum with the South Central Local Integrating Organization (LIO). The forum will include presentations and discussion about the following topics: stormwater, salmon habitat, and community; stormwater summit; tools and projects; and challenges and opportunities. Forum participants include Mary Ann Rozance, coordinator for the South Central LIO; Josh Brosnan, strategic planning manager with King County; Jenny Gaus, surface water strategic advisor with the City of Kirkland; Jesse Williams, water resources engineer at Jacobs; Denise Di Santo, watershed steward with King County; Roseann Barnhill, principal and director of ecology and green stormwater infrastructure at Dirt Corps; Latoya Kennedy, crew lead and youth educator at Dirt Corps; and Megan Smith, environmental affairs officer with King County.?
- A presentation and discussion about stormwater and toxics. This session will include an update about recent work by the Stormwater Strategic Initiative and Implementation Strategy Leads and discussion of barriers to implementation and recommended policy changes. Presentation by Derek Day,?Stormwater Strategic Initiative lead, Washington State Department of Ecology, and Catherine Gockel, stormwater, shellfish, and agriculture lead, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Puget Sound Geographic Program.? ?
- A presentation and discussion about the Partnership's Shared Principles of Partner Respect and Engagement, a central guide and resource about the kind of conduct Partnership staff will exhibit in agency-sponsored meetings and expect others to reciprocate in that same spirit. This session will include discussion of the Core Principles in the document. Partnership staff will seek feedback from the Ecosystem Coordination Board members about the Core Principles. Presentation by Larry Epstein, deputy director of the Puget Sound Partnership and Jillian Reitz, boards policy advisor at the Puget Sound Partnership.?
- A presentation and discussion about?legislative priorities for the 2024 state legislative session. Partnership staff will ask Ecosystem Coordination Board members to review preliminary results of an ongoing prioritization exercise in advance of an all-boards meeting on Nov. 30, at which time the boards will finalize their recommended prioritization for the Leadership Council's consideration in December. Presentation by Wendy Loosle, boards policy advisor at the Puget Sound Partnership.?

The Ecosystem Coordination Board's main role is to advise the Puget Sound Partnership?s Leadership Council on carrying out its responsibilities. The Board is made up of 30 members representing specific interests around the Sound.
