John,
After years of dedicated work, we achieved a significant victory this year. We successfully passed a new law that restores the right to vote for 55,000 Minnesotans who have left prison behind.
However, our progress faces an unexpected challenge. A single judge, without proper legal authority or prompting, has declared the new law unconstitutional and imposed probation sentences that include a ban on voting.
I have joined forces with Attorney General Keith Ellison and we are confident that we will be able to rectify this situation and protect the rights of those impacted by this decision.
With an election in just days, we must make sure that every eligible voter can exercise their right. We need your help to ensure we continue to spread our message. John, this is a call-to-action. I need 5,000 to help me amplify my message before our end-of-month fundraising deadline by chipping in any amount. Will you chip in $5 or more now?
This serves as a reminder that we need to stay strong in safeguarding the freedom to vote. We should always be on the lookout for any attempts to undermine this fundamental right.
As your Secretary of State, you have my word: I will always be fighting to ensure all who are eligible can vote.
There will be more bumps along the way but you can count on me to be on the front lines fighting for you.
I need to know that you’re standing with me. Help me keep doing this work by helping us by chipping in before our deadline →
If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process now. |
Thank you for standing with us.
