With less than three weeks until Election Day in Virginia and voters already casting ballots, I’m reaching out with an urgent message about the importance of this race. As someone who has been a part of elections in Virginia for a long time, I’ve seen my fair share of close races -- including my own race for Richmond City Council in 1994, which I won by only 97 votes! I remember vividly how in 2021, Democrats lost the majority in the House of Delegates by just 733 votes in the three closest districts. And how in 2017, leadership famously broke a tied race by randomly drawing the winner from a bowl. The outcome? Democrats lost our chance at ending the GOP’s House majority and fighting back against harmful policies -- by sheer luck.

I can’t see that happen again. Karen Jenkins is working hard to reach every single voter in the district. Their team is busy knocking doors, running advertisements, and attending community events. They’re working day in and day out to make sure everyone understands the high stakes of this election.

Karen is running a tough race, and she can’t do it alone. That’s why I’m fighting so hard to help Democrats take back the House of Delegates and win in battleground races like 89.
