Dear Friend,
As the crisis continues to unfold in Israel and Gaza, nothing can prepare us to see or experience this loss of life and human suffering, and there are no words to capture the pain and sorrow felt in so many communities at this moment.
Americares is exploring any aid we can provide to people in the region affected by this crisis, both in Israel and in Gaza.
Here is the latest situation report:
-
Since Israel was violently attacked on Oct. 7 and intensified counter strikes began, UN agencies have reported over 6,000 lives have been lost in Israel and Gaza and thousands more have been injured.
-
We’ve provided funding to resupply volunteer paramedics and physicians working in southern Israel with trauma kits, defibrillators and medic bags.
-
More than 1.4 million people are displaced in Gaza—about half of the population. Most of those displaced are temporarily sheltering in schools with limited food and clean water.
-
The health care system in Gaza is on the brink of collapse. Hospitals and health centers have been damaged and are running out of fuel. An estimated 50,000 pregnant women are at risk of going without treatment.
-
A humanitarian corridor has been established allowing a limited number of aid trucks to enter Gaza. Americares is working with the global humanitarian community to facilitate medical aid transportation into Gaza.
Your support is urgently needed to provide lifesaving medicine and supplies for people facing health crises in Israel, Gaza and around the world. So, please: Will you make a gift of $125? |
