The difference between life and death for so many people in Gaza.

USA for UNFPA

We wanted to share a hopeful update from Gaza.

Over the weekend, trucks carrying UN aid including food, water, and medical supplies entered the Gaza Strip for the first time since the escalating conflict began. That means your gifts are already making a difference, since these supplies "are the difference between life and death for so many people in Gaza," as UN Secretary General António Guterres stated.

But despite this progress, the volume of goods is only a fraction of what is needed with Gaza’s health system on the brink of collapse. More emergency gifts are urgently needed to prevent an even greater humanitarian crisis — so we’re reaching out to our top supporters like you:

Will you rush an emergency gift to deliver aid to innocent women and girls in Gaza, the West Bank, and beyond who have found themselves in this crisis through no fault of their own?

MAKE AN EMERGENCY GIFT

1.4 million people have been displaced in the region, including 123,000 pregnant women in Gaza and the West Bank — 13,649 of whom are expected to give birth in the next month.

One 30-year-old pregnant Palestinian woman had to evacuate her home four times, with only a small bag of clothes. "Each step felt like a race against death," she said. She fears for her unborn child’s safety and finds it impossible to rest in the overcrowded school shelter she found refuge in.

"I couldn’t help but think about how my baby was feeling with every explosion. But every kick from my unborn child was giving me hope and strength." These are the words of another pregnant Palestinian woman from the north of Gaza who is now displaced in a school shelter with her family after their home was destroyed. Sleeping on a cold floor with barely any food or basic hygiene items, she is worrying about her baby — but still clings on to hope each time she feels her baby kick.

Your donations can make a difference. Will you make an emergency humanitarian gift today to support women and girls surviving this crisis and crises around the world?

MAKE AN EMERGENCY GIFT

Thanks to support from private donors like you, UNFPA has mobilized rapidly and effectively in Gaza:

  • UNFPA has assisted 219 vulnerable women in Gaza through direct aid.
  • Hygiene kits and clothing are being distributed to partner organization shelters in Gaza to ensure people have the essentials they need.
  • Supplies of magnesium sulfate, a vital drug for treating preeclampsia in pregnant women, are being provided to Gaza.
  • Counseling and referrals are available to support youth and individuals in need.
  • Dignity kits, clothing, and hygiene materials have been distributed to 17 displaced women in the West Bank, with additional psychosocial support available at the UNFPA Safe Space in Hebron.
  • And now, more UNFPA aid has arrived on the limited number of trucks that have been allowed in Gaza.

As needs mount, your continued partnership will be critical toward ensuring women and girls have the care they need in the darkest of times.

Thank you for making a difference.
