Last week, Steve Scalise officially withdrew from the Speaker race. Jim Jordan then made us sit through not one, but three votes — and lost support each time.

They’re in such chaos, Republicans are wheeling the clown car around to bail them out. Now, nine Republicans are officially up for consideration as the third GOP Speaker nominee in less than a month.

Desperate times, desperate measures, I guess. But if Republicans think that restarting this search with nine candidates when we’re already 20 days without a Speaker will result in less GOP infighting, they’re on a fool’s errand.
