Dear ABE Team:
The election on November 7th has already begun with early voting in person and by mail.
In August, The Union and many other pro-democracy/rule of law groups opposed a proposal to amend the Ohio Constitution so that a minority of voters could dictate the result of ballot initiatives. You turned out and got others to vote down this anti-democratic initiative. But that vote was only Part 1 of the challenge in front of us.
Part 2 is the November 7th election. A “YES” vote on Part 2 confirms personal freedoms for Ohioans. This Part 2 “YES” vote is essential to limiting the State’s power to supersede personal freedoms.
To be frank, Ohio turned out BIG to defeat Part 1 of this attack on democracy, but there has been some lethargy in getting out the vote to defend personal freedoms in Part 2. The job is only half done and we need to GOTV BIG if we want to defend our democratic rights.
So let’s get going!!
