In Texas last night, Jessica Cisneros — a progressive candidate for Congress — came within 3,000 votes of unseating Trump’s favorite Democrat.

3,000 votes!

And while it wasn’t the end result we hoped for, it is proof that we’re making inroads into beating conservative Democrats who are funded by profit-hungry corporations. Working people can win these seats back.

Jessica came within 3 points of victory, despite her opponent’s millions in dark money and corporate-funded negative attack ads against her. She ran a 100% grassroots, people-powered campaign like ours.
 
However, close is not good enough here. Last night was inspiring, but it was also a reminder that we need to continue to work twice as hard to win this fight.

Unlike my opponent, I do not accept cash from corporate PACs and special interests. If we’re going to win this race together, I need the support of everyday people like you. 

That’s how we beat back the influence of corporate greed.
