It’s been more than 20 days that the House has been left without a Speaker, and now Republicans are back to square one.
Rep. Jim Jordan voted to overturn the 2020 election and he wants to pardon Trump for election crimes. Last week, he failed to win the speakership in a third round of voting, leaving the House in total chaos for the second time in 10 months.
Extremists have taken over the Republican Party and now, they don’t know who to turn to. If one thing is abundantly clear, it is that American families CANNOT rely on the Republican Party.
Their total lack of leadership is shameful and now more than ever, our nation needs elected officials with strong judgment. As another government shutdown deadline looms, the last thing we need is dysfunction in Congress. Democrats need to show voters that there is an alternative to the chaos and hatred espoused by the Republican extremists who have taken over Washington.
In just 15 days, critical elections are happening in Ohio, Virginia, and Mississippi. Abortion is on the ballot, and these races will determine who takes control of our state legislatures. Democrats need to show up, we need to win, and we need to lay the groundwork for 2024.
