I welcome Republicans to join Democrats and vote for Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker of the House so we can get back to governing.
Another week, another Speaker-less House of Representatives.
Last week, Republicans went through three failed attempts to elect their latest nominee — extremist Jim Jordan. That’s the same Jim Jordan who aided and abetted insurrections, spread violence against immigrants, and covered up systemic sexual abuse.
I’ll keep saying it: I welcome Republicans to join Democrats and vote for Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker of the House so we can get back to governing.
While Republicans continue fighting amongst themselves, here’s what I’ve been recently fighting for in the House:
- Keeping the pressure on the Biden-Harris Administration to make good on their promise of broad-based student debt cancellation
- Introducing legislation to improve maternal health outcomes and reverse the trend of rising maternal mortality rates
- Working to get our constituents home and pressing to save the lives of civilians and hostages in Gaza and Israel
- Strengthening tenants’ right to organize
- And much more
Please chip in $8 or anything you can to power this movement and continue to advance this work in Congress. The people deserve a functioning government and a government that presses for transformative policies. I’m here to do just that, and I appreciate your support.
