As a cub, Baloo the bear was heartlessly sold into captivity in Romania, where he has suffered for 23 agonizing years. Trapped alone inside a cramped cage at a ski resort, Baloo paces and rocks in distress, his spirit broken from over two decades of solitary confinement. 

But the confinement is not the only cause of his daily suffering. He is fed an alarming diet of cereal, lemonade and even alcohol. Neighborhood kids sometimes stop by to poke and taunt him with sticks. This isn’t the life any bear should live. But it’s the only life Baloo has known. 

Every year Baloo spends in his cage, is another year too many. 

Our goal is to rescue Baloo and give him the life he deserves. Give now to aid the transfer of Baloo to Libearty, our trusted partner sanctuary with 69 acres of natural forest habitat. There, Baloo will finally experience freedom after so many years of suffering.
