In the 2024 legislative session, OAH will propose a technical bill.
What is a technical bill?
A technical bill corrects outdated or obsolete language in Minnesota statutes. It does not change existing policy or the effect of the Minnesota statutes or rules.
Scope
OAH's technical bill will be limited to Minnesota statutes that directly affect OAH's work, such as Minn. Stat. ch. 14, 176, 211A, and 211B.
Submit your ideas by October 30
To craft a bill, we need your suggestions about what needs to be updated.
Please submit your ideas using this form by October 30. We encourage you to work together with your colleagues and submit a single proposal. Please fill out the form separately for each subdivision for which you propose changes. This will help us stay organized if we get multiple submissions for the same subdivision.
What's next
We plan to draft a proposal later this fall so it is ready when legislative session begins in January.
What about legislative ideas that are not technical?
This project might make you think of other policy ideas that are not technical in nature. Please keep notes of your ideas for a future project. We will consider policy items after our technical bill is further along.
