Folks, The New York Times recently released a fascinating story on Republican election activists and their so-called “poll watching”...

In 2021, when Republicans secured big wins in Virginia, they attributed their success partly to their “poll watchers.” These watchers were conservative activists who were trained to keep an eye on voters, inspect ballot machines, and look for evidence of voter fraud – they’re actually taught to be as close as legally possible to the election workers. They even wrote a memo, which they coined “The Virginia Model”, detailing their practices so other states can follow suit. This was all done under the claim of “protecting election integrity.”

And now they’re at it again – recruiting more supporters to work ahead of the legislative elections next month.

Let’s call this what it is: The GOP, ever since Donald Trump lost the election in 2020, have been obsessed with convincing the American people that we should not trust the electoral system. These “poll watchers” are simply fueling the baseless claims that our elections are rigged.

What we’re witnessing is a coordinated effort to cast doubt on our elections.

Our elections next month have the potential to be a staging ground for outright election subversion down the line. We don’t need a party in charge of the Commonwealth that would rather cast doubt on our elections than get things done for Virginians.
