Listen, America's kids have a job: it's to go to school, to learn, and to explore. It's not their job to keep weapons of war out of our communities, or to ensure our education system is serving them all equally. That's our job.
America's kids are paying the price for Washington's gridlock.
My daughters and young people across the country have grown up in the shadow of school violence that my generation didn't. It's our job to fix it.
Our schools today are more segregated than they were 50 years ago, and our education system is reinforcing the inequality in this country, not liberating people from it. It's our job to fix it.
There are common-sense solutions that the vast majority of Americans support that would make a real difference. By refusing to even bring legislation to the Senate floor, Mitch McConnell is determined to stonewall progress. It's our job to fix it.
We cannot sit idly by. We have to demand action and hold our leaders accountable at the ballot box if they fail.
America's kids are depending on us.
I'm fighting for the kind of future that every kid in America deserves because I've had enough of Republican's weak leadership, and I'm ready to take action and fix it.
Forward together, now.
