Being out on the campaign trail, I’ve met so many people from Rockland to Lewisboro who remind me just how high the stakes are. From steep housing and child care costs to deep fears about climate change and what’s happening overseas—this election is deeply personal for so many.

The people of NY-17 deserve leaders who understand the stakes and are ready to work hard to make progress. Sadly, Mike Lawler and his Republican Party continue to play petty political games that prevent our government from functioning while people in our district struggle to make ends meet.

We have a chance to retake control of the House and focus on the issues that matter most—and that fight starts here in NY-17. Roll Call and Daily Kos have called Mike Lawler the second most beatable House Republican in America, and election experts are already predicting this race will be a “toss-up.”
