It’s what our democracy calls for.

NC voters deserve fair political maps. Tell NC legislators to REJECT new proposals for gerrymandered maps >>>

John, there are two principles that are the absolute bare minimum for a healthy democracy:

  1. Voters should all have an equal voice in deciding who represents them.
  2. Politicians should not get to choose their voters.

But Republican legislators in North Carolina unveiled their new congressional and state legislature maps last week — and these maps are gerrymandering on steroids.

Here are the facts: North Carolina is a 50/50 state — with all statewide elections coming down to the margins. Our current congressional delegation is evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats.

But under Republicans’ proposed maps, they could win as many as 11 of the 14 congressional districts and continue to hold a majority (and potentially their supermajorities) in both chambers of the state legislature.

It’s outrageous, and we won’t stand for it.

The legislator will vote on these gerrymandered maps next week. We need to make our voices heard loud and clear before then.
