Welcome, True Texans!

October monthly meetings are in the books! I had the pleasure of attending 3 of them, and they did not disappoint.  Yes, the speakers were great, but I found that the leadership teams in all three were so genuine in their desire to welcome guests and share their enthusiasm for saving Texas. I loved to see that! Some of the meetings are smaller than others, some are more polished than others, but all of them are full of everyday folks like you and I just volunteering to do what they can to make a difference.  We really do run with the BEST people!!!

Don't-Miss Events

Careful!  I've already mentioned all the events below in a previous newsletter, but they'll sneak up on ya!  Don't let these opportunities fall through the cracks...

• America's Favorite Pastime - True Texans vs the Lone Star Fighters happens THIS COMING WEEKEND! Bring the family for the hitting contest, a hot dog dinner, and good, ol' fashioned fun with all your patriotic friends. It's free to attend!
• Pumpkin Contest - Carve a True Texas Project-themed pumpkin and send me a pic of it lit up on display ([email protected]).  We'll choose a winner and give away 2 free tickets to our Christmas party! (Winner can choose the Houston party or the DFW party). That's a $90 value!

• Yes, you can meet Sen Rand Paul on Nov 5! He's doing a book-signing as a fundraiser for True Texas Project. Get tickets here. A few different folks told me they didn't want to tell anyone else about this because they were afraid it would sell out.  We have plenty of room!  Please share! It's a fundraiser, so we need as many as we can get.
• Last week I provided a link to $80 off of the TEXIT conference tickets. When you went to purchase tickets, however, it was only a $20 discount.  Yikes! I inquired and learned that instead of the $80 discount, they drastically cut the price overall, and then gave a $20 discount.  We'd love for you to stop by our booth, hear us on the mainstage, and attend our breakout sessions! We're offering multiple classes from our Certified True Texan training program. It's Nov 10-12 in Waco.  Use this link for the discount.
• Make plans to EAT! Most of our Friendsgiving events do not require an RSVP, but the one in Grapevine for the DFW area does.  Don't delay.  This one always has a wait list. For the rest of you, start thinking of what you'll bring!
• Christmas Is Coming!  Get your tickets for our dueling piano parties now in Houston (on 12/7) AND Grapevine (on 12/14).

Week 2 of 3rd Special Session saw some activity from House Committees (at least two of them)  Read all about it in full Friday Message.

There are also FOUR action items for you to engage in government, including a petition to stand with Tony Tinderholt and Dump Dade!.  Check out the details in the full message linked above, and then get out there and be the change you want to see in the world.

Let Us Pray!

Lord, please lift up all our legislators in this special session. Give a special portion of favor and strength for those advocating in Austin. Give us wisdom as to what each of our parts are in this fight. Alone we can do nothing. Together we can do much. Together with you we can do the impossible. Let us each be a small part of what YOU are going to do in this land. Please forgive the sins that have been committed in this state and spare Texas for the sake of a few dedicated servants. In Jesus name, AMEN!

• Each week we are introducing you to one of the challengers for each of the Dirty Dozen state house reps.  This week we add Wade Cowen! 

Wade is a farmer and businessman from West Texas challenging Dustin Burrows, one of the State Reps most aligned with Speaker Dade Phelan!  It is vital that no matter where you live in Texas, you show some love and support to the challengers taking on these Goliaths!
