Team,

The recent introduction of a new state law in Arizona has election officials waving a red flag — completely altering the way state officials have counted signatures for ballot measures.

These changes might not directly affect the measures we're eyeing for 2024, but here at the Fairness Project, we are deeply concerned about their implications on the issues that matter the most to us—be it reproductive rights, fair wages, or others. Will you help us shift with the changing ballot measure landscape by rushing a donation today? [[link removed]]

Our track record in Arizona speaks for itself. We've backed winning ballot measures like the 2016 state minimum wage hike and a similar campaign in Tucson in 2021. We stood firm against referendums that sought to limit the power of ballot measures and ardently supported Proposition 209, which garnered over 70% voter approval to cap interest rates on medical debts.

No matter what, we’ll always step up to fight in states like Arizona — even when the playing field is uneven.

But the new legislation in Arizona implies that we must redouble our efforts to make sure voters have a say in shaping their futures. There's a growing concern that this is only the tip of the iceberg, and more states might follow suit, limiting direct democratic processes.

The Fairness Project won't stand by silently. We are committed to countering any assaults on the ballot measure process. We've always been quick to respond to political shifts, and with your support, we can maintain this agility.

By contributing today, you'll be safeguarding the essence of what ballot measures represent for Arizonians—direct change. Your support ensures we can adapt, face challenges head-on, and guarantee every voice has its say in our democracy. Can we count on you to support us in these turbulent times? [[link removed]]
