This morning the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments in June Medical Services v. Russo, a historic case that could potentially impact abortion access across our country. Read our case explainer to learn more.

Our staff, physician advocates, and incredible partners were on the steps of the Supreme Court rallying to make it undeniably clear: ABORTION IS HEALTH CARE! We’re not staying silent as policymakers attempt to pass harmful, medically unnecessary laws that hurt patients.

Fellow Dr. Pooja Mehta, an ob/gyn in Louisiana, called on the Court to reject these dangerous and needless obstacles that make it nearly impossible to get abortion care.

Dr. Mehta said, “I am here today because lawmakers in Louisiana have gone too far. As a doctor I can tell you that admitting privileges do not make abortion safer—they challenge access.”

Board Member and ob/gyn in Indiana, Dr. Katie McHugh, spoke on behalf of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and called for putting patients and the facts first.

Dr. McHugh added, “The fact is my patients should not have to face barriers imposed by politicians that have no medical benefit or scientific justification."

I am incredibly thankful for our courageous physician advocates and all of you who rallied today with us in person or at home.

Since the outcome of this case will have implications beyond Louisiana, it’s critical we continue to work together every day so that our friends and our families—not politicians—can make their own medical decisions.

We will keep you updated on how you can stay involved in this fight.
