Hi there,

Today is the 54th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act.

The Voting Rights Act aimed to end voter suppression efforts at the state and local levels, but today many still face obstacles on their way to the voting booth.

We should not be imposing unnecessary voting barriers that make it harder for some -- including young people -- to participate and have their voices heard in New Hampshire.

That’s just not who we are as a state.

Yet just last week, the Governor vetoed two bills that aimed to undo H.B. 1264, a bill that requires college students to get a NH state driver’s license and car registration (if they have a vehicle here) in order to vote in New Hampshire.

We should be encouraging more Granite Staters to get out to the polls and vote, but right now our state is disenfranchising tens of thousands of voters with their latest voter suppression tactic.

On our first day in Congress, we got straight to work on passing H.R. 1, the For the People Act, to make voting easier, end the dominance of outside money in politics, and restore the American people’s faith in our government.

There is still so much to be done to stop voter suppression, but as long as I am serving the people of New Hampshire in Congress I will always fight to ensure every American can exercise their right to vote.

If combating voter suppression strategies is important to you, help me stay in the fight by making a grassroots contribution of $25 or whatever you can to power our campaign today.

Thank you so much,
Chris
