As Republican chaos paralyzes Congress, it’s crystal clear why progressives must grow our ranks and take back power for the people.
Not only must we defeat rightwing extremists at the ballot box in just a few weeks - and win victories for reproductive rights in states like Ohio - we must also start working now to take back the House and more in 2024.
If you’re already a member of Our Revolution, please consider pitching in an extra donation to our Progressive Power Fund to help us build out our organizing in key districts and swing states now — not later.
If you’re not yet a sustaining member, please consider a monthly donation to ensure we have the resources needed to shift the balance of power in Washington, D.C., and beyond.

Our Revolution is mobilizing our outside movement and elected allies to stand with frontline communities across California who are being directly harmed by oil and gas drilling.
Not only is carbon deadly for our planet, oil wells and refineries are making people sick.
On Tuesday, our coalition of environmental activists was joined by U.S. Reps. Barbara Lee and Ro Khanna on our LIVE Town Hall to organize for a world beyond fossil fuels, prevent backyard drilling in California, and fight for environmental justice for all.

Our Revolution is proud to join US Reps. Barbara Lee and Ro Khanna to endorse the Campaign for a Safe and Healthy California, a grassroots campaign to keep the law and keep drilling out of backyards.
We heard directly from Californians who’ve been harmed by oil and gas drilling and are working to fend off Big Oil’s attempt to overturn SB1137, a bill passed last year to ensure all oil wells are set back at least 3,200 feet from homes, schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and more.
Listen to CA State Senator Lena Gonzalez lay out the case in this video clip from the town hall, asking political leaders in California who they’re going to believe - the fossil fuel industry or folks on the frontlines?

“Fossil fuels are dirty and dangerous to drill out of the ground, hazardous to store in underground wells, and poisonous to burn for fuel,” Barbara told us Tuesday, calling on President Biden to declare a climate emergency.
“Oil and gas wells are a toxic presence in neighborhoods throughout California and a simple law creating a safe buffer zone between these dangerous sites and where people live, work and play is just common sense,” she said.
Barbara Lee has been at the forefront of the fight for environmental justice her entire life. She was an original cosponsor of the Green New Deal and is a co-lead on the Environmental Justice for All Act. This week, she released her Senate campaign’s environmental platform, calling for President Biden to declare a climate emergency.
“We must rapidly transition away from dirty fuels NOW or face dire consequences,” Barbara said. "Access to clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment should not be a luxury.”
Our Revolution is proudly endorsing Barbara Lee for U.S. Senate in California. Sign up at our new Progressives for Barbara Lee website to help elect the most progressive candidate in this race!

“Last year alone, the fossil fuel industry spent over $34 million in California on lobbying with a focus on repealing SB1137,” said US. Rep. Ro Khanna. “It’s outrageous that Big Oil is fighting against this commonsense public health measure.”
“Enough is enough, I’m proud to stand with Our Revolution and Barbara Lee to move beyond fossil fuels and to fight back against these dirty tactics,” he said.

To Nalleli Cobo and so many others, the dangers of oil drilling are more than an abstraction.
At just 19, Nalleli led a coalition to shut down a toxic oil drilling site in South LA. Now, she’s fighting alongside our coalition to make sure it’s banned from backyards all across the state of California.
“I fight so my story ends with me, so I’m the last 9-year-old to become an activist out of survival. I also fight so I’m the last 19-year-old to choose between her reproductive system or her life,” she told us at the town hall. “I was diagnosed with Stage 2 reproductive cancer at 19. These toxic sites are affecting us at every stage of our lives from beginning to end.”

“We do have wins and that’s the power of Our Revolution and grassroots organizing,” said Fatima Iqbal-Zubair, Chair of the California Democratic Party Progressive Caucus.
She said it is because of activists knocking doors, making calls, and showing up to demand environmental justice that other bills have passed to make polluters pay for capping wells, make corporations report emissions and climate financial risk, and more.
“Here’s the hopeful thing,” Fatima said. “Wins happen when we come together, when legislators who believe in this come together and fight alongside us against industry.”

Abortion is on the ballot in Ohio on Nov. 7th, and early voting is underway! Our Revolution has been organizing for months to make sure this measure passes, and now we’re in the homestretch to preserve reproductive rights in the Buckeye State.
We all know the drill — after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a small but loud group of deep-pocketed extremists took to the states, determined to gut abortion laws.
But the resistance has been real. Thanks to grassroots funding, armies of volunteers, and organizations like Our Revolution, we have a real shot at enshrining a woman’s right to abortion access in the Ohio constitution.
Our Revolution staff and volunteers have just over 2 weeks to reach as many voters as possible in Ohio to make sure they understand what’s at stake and have a plan to vote. Chip in today to help us reach our voter outreach goal and win abortion access in Ohio on Nov. 7th!

Bernie Sanders just issued a report that found that in 2021, six of our country’s biggest so-called “non-profit” hospital systems spent less than 1% of their total revenue on charity care.
The only reason these facilities have non-profit status is because they are supposed to give free or discounted health care to those in need. It’s another example of major corporations getting millions of dollars in tax loopholes, while everyday Americans foot the bill.
Bernie is calling on Congress and the IRS to crack down on this abuse of the system. Will you join him?
Sign on here to tell Congress and the IRS: no more tax breaks for corporate hospitals. We demand accessible health care in our communities.

Our Revolution members have been joining United Auto Workers on picket lines nationwide — from Maryland to Michigan and beyond.
On Thursday our activists stood with striking workers outside a GM Plant in Martinsburg, WV, and outside a Mopar location in Winchester, VA.
We’re canvassing dealerships and distributing leaflets in our community about the UAW’s Stand-Up Strike and how Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis are refusing to settle fair contracts with 150,000 workers after making $250 Billion in profits.

Our Revolution Minnesota marched on Cargill HQ with Brazilian indigenous leader Beka Saw Munduruku, widely considered the Greta Thunberg of Brazil.
Last Thursday, Munduruku, along with environmental leaders and Our Revolution activists, hand-delivered a letter at Cargill’s headquarters, located just outside of Minneapolis.
Cargill is the largest family-owned corporation in the U.S. and the most powerful force in global agribusiness. The Cargill-MacMilian family has 14 billionaires!
The corporation’s sprawling operations in the Brazilian Amazon and neighboring Cerrado biome, and its reckless practices are driving an ever-expanding wave of deforestation, pollution, and violence against local communities like the Munduruku. On the day of action, a full-page NY Times ad ran demanding the family change their disastrous behavior.

Our Revolution and One Fair Wage have been teaming up coast to coast to raise wages and end subminimum wages for tipped workers.
After winning a historic victory in Chicago last month, our coalition of worker activists in NYC is continuing the fight. We’ll be joined Friday (Oct. 27th), joined by NY State Attorney General Letitia James, Assembly Member Gonzalez Rojas, and NY State Senator Robert Jackson.
Together, we will release a report on the largest survey of service workers conducted post-pandemic, and build on our successes to ensure a full minimum wage for all service workers, with tips on top.

Our Revolution Political Director Aaron Chappell testified this week in support of a bill to eliminate the tipped minimum wage in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Enough is enough — workers deserve a living wage.
