Jack, this week, the Associated Press published a scathing review of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s work to spread dangerous misinformation about vaccines and the devastating effects this is having on children, doctors and nurses, and elected officials. It's a long piece, but I encourage you to read the whole thing.

One of the most compelling parts of the AP story details Kennedy's efforts to "intimidate and silence" public health officials. Well, Daily Kos has some direct experience in Kennedy's intimidation tactics.

Back in 2021, Kennedy sued Daily Kos to try and force us to unmask a pseudonymous community writer on our site. The writer drew Kennedy's ire for posting a translation of a German-language news story, which reported that Kennedy had appeared at an anti-vaxx protest organized by far-right extremists that included Germany's neo-Nazi party.

Other outlets, including the CBS News and the New York Times, reported that Kennedy attended the rally, but Kennedy didn't sue them or even Der Tagesspiegel, the German-language newspaper that had written the original account. No, he sued Daily Kos, a small, independent news outlet.

We've been fighting this frivolous lawsuit for two years, in two states, and we are currently heading to an appeal. This has been expensive and, frankly, we could have used that money in a million other ways. That's why I'm writing to you today.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is pressing a frivolous lawsuit against Daily Kos. He has a family fortune upon which he can draw to drag things on forever, but we don't.
