storm babet
Due to the anticipated widespread impact of the rising river levels along the River Trent and due to the flood alerts in place across the county, Nottinghamshire and Nottingham Local Resilience Forum have declared a Major Incident.
Record river levels on the River Derwent are likely to lead to further peaks in water levels along the Trent Valley over the next 24 to 48 hours causing further risk of flooding in communities along the Trent Valley. ?This will likely lead to risk of flooding to properties and roads. A map of the flood areas can be accessed?here [ [link removed] ].
Several flood warnings are already in place, including for the River Leen at Old Basford, New Basford, and Bobbers Mill [ [link removed] ]. Water levels are being monitored as they are expected to rise over the next 24/48 hours.
Local partners are working together to provide emergency support and help where needed and are urging the public to stay safe and help keep the level of disruption to a minimum.
